So, is there no chance of ever getting the original film cues of Destroyer on CD from Intrada or whoever?
Were the masters lost?

I thought Intrada was working on it - didn't they say so back when they did Conan 1?
I think they were waiting for sales to peter out on the Tadlow.

Cool. I hope so. These re-recordings are great, but I'd prefer the film version of Destroyer.

I poked around the Intrada boards, but got pulled away before I could find the reference - I know they said it was coming, this isn't one of those "I think I heard...." posts......can't stand those! I don't think any of us can have enough Conan, by Crom!

I love both rerecordings. And listen more to the rerecording of Conan than to the original tracks nowadays.

For sure there are some differences in performance, tempo and emphasis on the instruments, but I got used to the rerecording, and only on ocasion I listen to the original album arrangement included in the Intrada set. The performance seems much more polished in the rerecording for me, I specially like the main title version and the "head shop" cue (that misses the powerful coda in the original recording).

On Destroyer I'm sure the rerecording will remain the best version, as there are problems with the original performance. The issues in the rerecording of this one for me are the slower tempo of Crystal Palace and the mutted begining of the "Dream Quest", but other than that it is perfect in sound and performance. In any case will be getting the original recording when Intrada releases it - these are great scores and the more the better.

Now I'd like to suggest to Tadow a rerecording of Red Sonja and Hundra. Both great scores and suffering from poor sound on their releases, and some missing music too... I'm sure such recordings would be sucessful sellers. And Red Sonja could be considered Conan 3... at least it was for the fullfilment of Swartzenegger's contract with DeLaurentis.
