I can see the case for touting love and acceptance here, but traditionally this is one of the more combative soundtrack discussion forums.

The end credits track doesn't seem to be on the iTunes soundtrack. It's a mixture of cues from the film I think, but it's a very satisfying survey.

The film is getting horrendous reviews:

Looks like Desplat won't be getting his Oscar this year...oh well.

Could be the old adage. 'The films that get rescored are the ones that just don't work.'

(with many ample exceptions, of course)

Well DEFIANCE got an Oscar nomination for James Newton Howard and only ranked at 57% positive at Rotten Tomatoes.

And THE GOOD GERMAN was considered a bomb (ranked 33% at RT) and got a nomination.

Those are only two examples in recent years. There are TONS more.

James

I already knew this was another excellent score, but I just saw the film and the score in the film was utterly brilliant. It really kept the movie going as well. Highly recommended, in any case - too bad it's just available as CD-R...

Well... CDr is no longer available... perhaps someone can release it properly now?

I thought the whole point of CDR's manufactured on demand is that they could always be available, long after pressed CDs have gone out of print.

Is this a licencing issue?

I think the same happened with Javier Navarrete's "Wrath of the Titans" last time I checked.

EDIT: It actually annoys me that some labels obtain the licence for scores, and then just release CDRs. It's selfish, when some other label could have licensed it and released it properly.
