I'm not very familiar with this composer. I have his Amalia score but that's it.

This John Barry Homage he wrote is nice http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ht-QNU_ZpH4&feature=player_embedded

Here are a couple of commercials he scored:

1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fG7q6NlbrZA&feature=relmfu
2. http://www.myspace.com/video/nuno-malo/sagres-painting/5536119
3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6hrJWjdBS8&feature=channel_video_title

This third one is the one I really like (the second one is great to, really digging the jazz writing). I love this kind of music.
Reminds me a littlebit of John Barry and Arnold's Casino Royale City of Lovers. Not sure, either way great stuff.

A very promising composer, I should check out more of his work.

As far as I know, there are only two of his scores available (hopefully for now only) or did I miss something else?

I am definitely interested in hearing more of his work...

This guy has real talent. I really love his John Barry tribute track and feel he could become a big name given a few breaks.

Here's another advert that he scored, this time for Portugese Tourism

He has also released three solo albums:

- Cloud and Water
- Star-Crossing
- Morning Star

Anyone familiar with them? I'd definitely love to get them all, but they seem impossible to find...

ok... not much of comments... definitely not enough discussion of work of this supertalented guy...

perhaps his new release (well, one of his first western scores actually) will bring him more of well deserved attention.

My review of his latest score, NO GOD NO MASTER, for anyone who is interested.

Seriously, you want to check this one out - it's one of the best of the year, in my opinion.

This score has been on my radar to get, but with all the other releases as of late, I've been putting it off. Maybe it's time to check it out. I like Malo's work so far, especially the "Heaven" cue on "The Celestine Prophecy." Really good score if you haven't heard it.

Malo also has a piece on this recent album, for those who may be interested: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/andean-air/id924158794?i=924159887

So having caught the Nuno Malo "bug" I've been also very curious about these albums. I tried searching on the Tawainese Record Label's website but the albums don't seem to be listed anymore.

So I looked Nuno Malo on Facebook, added him as a friend and asked him directly! He said:

"Those 3 albums you mentioned were comissioned by a record label in Taiwan. They are available there. I heard they are also available on certain temples that are associated with the commissioning record company." He added that:

"There is a temple in Los Angeles that I think sells it. You can write to them and ask them if it is available in Canada. Their email is info@ibps.org"

He also gave me a link to a song from Morning Star that's available on YouTube. It's lovely.

That temple is going to be a bit confused to have multiple e-mails requesting information about this music. I sent one too smile

Got the response.

"Sorry that we do not have the CDs that you need, maybe you can try to find them online."

Well... that's pretty much impossible frown

Well at least we know they don't have them. I also got the same response, and thought the "Joining Palms" signature was nice.

There are a few more Nuno Malo clips on YouTube - I think they may be from the Morning Star album
