Does anyone know if an album (in any format) exists for Danse Macabre (AKA Castle of Blood) By Ritz Ortolani? Thanks in advance.

Is that what you're looking for?:

Btw, it's RIZ, not RITZ (yes, it's pronounced "ritz").

Hope it helps, cheers!

Thanks for your help! The one I'm looking for is for a film released in 1964. I suspect it's not available since all my searches have turned up nil. Thanks again!

A good Barbara Steele horror movie! I had once asked the same question over at another soundtrack forum... nobody really new the answer. I remember being suggested of CAM's release LA VERGINE DI NORIMBERGA by Ortolani also directed by Antonio Margheriti which also includes George Riviere in the cast of actors just as in Castle Of Blood but it's not the same movie. I have searched and searched on numerous occasions with no results. Ortolani's score music most likely has never been released. Probably not even available for a release. Digitmovies might be of help though. I had asked them once about another possible Italian score release and they responded almost immediately. They were going to request it to their department to try and see if they could get it released.

Very effective music...

You know what? This IS the album I was looking for. Apparently, they reused the music from Castle of Blood for this film. So you did find the album I was looking for all the along. Thanks again!

Hi, Kevin.

It took a long time to answer your question, I realize, but this soundtrack you are (were?) looking for only just got released in 2014:

Quite a number of these early 1960s genre items appear to had to wait until they were 50+ years old before getting issued onto disc.

Last year, Piero Piccioni's IL DEMONIO ('63) surfaced onto Beat Records. Only months ago, Digitmovies put out SEDDOK/LYCANTHROPUS (one year after the death of Armando Trovajoli).

These past weeks, Riz Ortolani's DANZA MACABRA comes into vendors' stocks (& Mr. Ortolani passed way earlier during 2014).

Anyway ... here it is!

Indeed! A "maybe" becomes an actuality.

Nice news, a very atmospheric effort which I saw years ago on TV and after 25 years caught up with it recently on YOU TUBE again. May I say I like it better now. Nicely done.
