The 100th release from Kritzerland is a good one making available the music from the Oscar nominated film.

And one of his 10 nominations for an Oscar. Of course he had a little competition that year with "Breakfast at Tiffany's," "Guns of Navarone," and "El Cid." A pretty good year for soundtracks.

Bernstein's " Summer and Smoke" is a brilliant score. I find it hard to believe that Bernstein's score do not sell that well. For Example, the Kritzerland issue of "SAS" is still available???? What gives with this? Can't get much better than Elmer Bernstein.

Well, it's good that it is still available for those who haven't yet or are only just discovering it. I agree, Summer and Smoke might be the best thing Elmer ever did, which is saying something. The muddy sound on the earlier LP and CD release never did it justice.
