Whoever is doing the transfers for Fox right now is sure in love with the "teal" look. THE GREAT ESCAPE, LOVE IS A MANY SLENDORED THING, and VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA are recent examples of the new trend toward the "teal" look.
Fox had nothing to do with the transfer of GREAT ESCAPE, other than slapping it on a disc.
Who did? Any info on who's doing the HD transfers for Fox? The home video companies outsource all this to independants. Maybe the same company that's doing Fox's HD remasterings is also doing the MGM stuff released by them.
Just when I thought it was safe to relax and enjoy Mary Poppins a flood of comments at the Home Theater Forum has found that the line structure of the animated cells has been altered -- thickened -- by the restoration process. I am trying to find before and after screen grabs to assess for myself. I wonder if my old LD of the film would have a "pre-restoration" print for comparison?
The Hunger Games - Fine presentation in widescreen. Plenty of extras over two BDs including commentary and Making-Of documentaries. The film itself I find watchable but not spectacular as the "games" would make a pretty dull TV program.
John Carter - Great looking widescreen picture quality and sound is every bit as good. Amusing blooper reel along with a host of extras. This one's a keeper.

Whatever the HTF pisser and moaners say, you will NOT notice anything untoward. Honestly, folks who spend their lives scanning every edge of a Blu ray image are simply NOT interested in the films they crucify.
Gravity - Spectacular looking picture (2D) even on my rear projection big screen TV. A nice assortment of featurettes detailing the film's technical innovations. A great buy at only $12.00.
