During this year of many Basil Poledouris scores being released, expanded, etc...

I think it was 1984 when ABC aired a tv movie that starred Madeline Stowe, Jennifer Warren, Jack Scalia and Leslie Bevis... The film was called AMAZONS. The women stole the show (of course.)

Cannot remember who directed it right now, but Dean Cundey shot it and Basil Poledouris gave it a rather exciting, well-textured score. The part of the score that always stood out to me was the theme that played when Jennifer Warren was onscreen.

I remember it! Not much of it, I do remember when it aired and I can picture the TV Guide ads for it right now. Can't remember a note of the music, but I wish I did!

With Lala doing BREAKDOWN and SPELLBINDER so far... this movie would be right up their alley. The score was just amazing. Perhaps it is on Youtube somewhere to refresh your memory...

Back in the 80's... that would be me... the score was a meld of CONAN, RED DAWN and FLESH AND BLOOD (most like in it's style). A real gem.

No idea what it is, but I'd buy an album release completely blind.

It's one the great unreleased 80's Poledouris scores. I'd buy a legit one in a heartbeat.

While it's unlikely this TV score will ever see a legit light of day, the 'promo' sounds very good (you can even hear the metronome during a couple of tracks).
The main theme is so infectious and just a typical Poledouris melody from that period (yes, I can certainly hear FLESH + BLOOD in it's DNA). It's in your head for days after hearing it.
I've never seen the film and based on most reviews, it seems better that way.
Now I can just imagine the amazing film in my head that BP saw and scored. I actually use the Robert McCammon novel BETHANY'S SIN in my mind's eye when I play this score and the two match perfectly.
