The Snowmobiles cue is indeed brilliant, that,s why some short cues are so important. Yes and they are the reason why i listen back to this score from time to time despite the fact i really don't fancy the synth stuff at all. And the DeLuxe edition is a huge listening improvement over the album i had only listened to a couple of times prior to the DeLuxe release.

How did Omen II get into this discussion of Poltergeist II? (Not that I'm complaining or anything, I really like both.) I think the reason some people have trouble liking Poltergeist II is that it has more in common with Omen II than it does with Poltergeist! Heavier synth use, plus the heavy choir use, yet it's lacking the grandeur and magic of the original. It's a *very* different score, even though it has some thematic material in common. I like them both (though the original is clearly the classic). Yavar

I have purchased this score four times: the short Intrada LP, the short Intrada CD, the long Intrada CD, and the still-longer Varese CD. And I have not enjoyed it in any incarnation. I think I'm done with this one. What made you continue buying music you didn't like?

How did Omen II get into this discussion of Poltergeist II? OH-MY-GOD! Yavar, I'm really confused and sorry about that : i didn't realize till now you were actually discussing POLTERGEIST II and not THE OMEN II! I don't even want to know how this happened... Sorry again Yavar.

So frustrating that Varese didn't just release the complete score when they had the chance (their "Deluxe Edition" added very little onto what Intrada had already made available in their expanded edition, anyway). Oh well. Maybe this way when the score starts going for a little more on the secondary market we'll get a truly definitive version from LLL with great liner notes...maybe they'll even have Lukas produce it, to go with his definitive release of the original on FSM. Bump Thanks Kritzerland for making the definitive Poltergeist II happen! BTW, since many people in this thread were mentioning alternates - there aren't any.
