The mark of a truly despicable screen villain is wanting to see that villain justly get his/her comeuppence...

...and they don't come much nastier and more despicable than 'Der Weisse Engel'.

And in the "real life" category here's one that ended up getting a well deserved 'neck stretch'.

The most imposing villain appearence by villain with no dialogue?

Easy...

And in the "007 villain henchman who doesn't speak" category...

"His name's Jaws. He kills people!"

A good choice Jim, I'm trying to think a bit further afield too rather than the obvious Die Hard baddies and Hannibal Lektor's.

I see Zooba already mentioned it above.

Bruce Dern as the cowardly evil skunk drifter Asa Watts who shoots (in the back) and kills an unarmed Wil Andersen (John Wayne) in "The Cowboys".

I just watched the film again recently and my reaction to this scene was the same as when I first saw it as a kid. It's a brutal scene and it remains tough to watch in an otherwise enjoyable early 70's Wayne western.
