I don't think I have ever seen a villain in a movie I wanted to kick in the teeth more than Percy. mad A great performance by Doug Hutchison (aka Eugene Victor Tooms on The X-Files).

In the overlooked classic The Collector, I found the killer himself to be one of the eeriest, most cruel, and most despicable villains I`ve ever seen. Superb characterization. No hesitation - I`d kill the CENSOREDer immediately, given the chance (!).

Most villains receive their comeuppance. Thus I must select...

...Gavin Elster from VERTIGO.

This scumbag manipulates Jimmy Stewart into coming out of retirement and sets him up as a witness to a murder by exploiting his fear of heights. Then Elster breaks his wife's neck and throws her off the bell-tower of a Spanish mission. Grief-stricken, Stewart goes insane for several months.

Knowing she can never talk, Elster also abandons his lover / accomplice Kim Novak, leaving her a few bucks and a few trinkets (one of which ends up incriminating her). By the end Kim Novak is dead and Jimmy Stewart is a broken, disillusioned man.

And what happens to Elster? He gets away with it.

There is no worse villain in the entire history of cinema.

Talking Stephen King -he really has a knack for creating despicable villains-, what about

Marcy Gay Harden in The Mist?

When she got it, the theater erupted in applause, I kid you not.

Though a bit more realistic character (as I've known someone like this on my previous job)

Burke from Aliens

Are you referring to the recent film The Collector, I think it was set in a house, about a thief breaking in and finding more than he bargained for, from the writers of Saw IV-VII, Marcus Dustan and Patrick Melton? If so, I agree. smile

But you could say that he doesn't get away with it completely if one goes by the cut ending. smile
