I'm glad the score got the deluxe treatment. It's my favorite movie and score from the franchise (love the distorted samples with the choir on top) and I never got around to buying it so I def did this time. I'm sure Deputey will be stoked with this release.
It would suck if this was the only one to get the DeLuxe treatment considering how different especially second score is. btw, it seems there is only like 5-6 minutes missing (if I count correctly TT should be about 65:24).
I was really surprised to see that my favourite action cue was in fact composed by Christophe Beck! And disappointed by the fact that one great cue is missing IMO: the short one when Dewey comes to see Gail and ask her to take a walk. It features the same vocalist as in Sidney's Lament, and this is hauntingly beautiful. Now I m still begging for a deluxe "Mimic" treatment!
Yes a deluxe for the second would be needed indeed! But don't know if this will happen, since this is not the case for "The Matrix reloaded" for instance! And what a shame with all these great cues missing...

The three movies are all from the same studio, so I think that if they were able to get the rights for the first and third movie, they could release the second movie as well.
I am very, very happy to have this officially and I'm not bothered by the short, stinger cues that are missing. I think the track someone mentioned before, the vocals scoring a scene between Dewey and Gale is included as "Dewey and Gail". I hope to see a deluxe Scream 2 in future, as this one is my favourite of the franchise. Also, it seems that the release of this deluxe edition signals that Varese is looking back through their catalogue of 30 minute releases, which can only mean good things!
that's just seem to be another cash-in from varese to adjust ot scream 4 release. if you releasing a deluxe edition of beltrami, i whould expected hellboy or mimic, which in my opinion are his best work. scream seems to be lame effort, but that's my two cents.

In fairness SCREAM was the title to really rocket Marco to fame.Fans complained for years that there wasn't a decent soundtrack release for SCREAM. Well, here it is.Shouldn't be cause for complaint.
I love the SCREAM/SCREAM 2 combo CD, basically because it has lots of "delicious darkness" going on and less of the stingers and sneaking-around stuff that I can't stand with horror music. I fear that there will be too much of the latter on this expansion, so I'd love to hear feedback on that when the CD arrives in people's homes. Since the selections on the first CD was fairly short, I hope it can sustain a slight expansion.

I'm pretty sure this won't be for you. Weirdly enough i just watched the film again last night ( didn't for one minute think it would be one of the club titles) but i was paying attention to the music a bit more, having just bought SCREAM 4. There lots of suspense/stinger stuff and, if the official release reflects the unmentionable one, i'm pretty sure you'd be happier with the combo one.

My favourite bit is the Morricone pastiche for Dewey. Has that whole melancholic Zimmer/BROKEN ARROW thing going on (in fact, Zimmer's cue was used in the movie, if memory serves).

I agree. If you are releasing a Scream deluxe edition, it makes sense to do it when there is a new movie and interest in the franchise. Though I do wonder how big a role that plays in selling a 2000 edition soundtrack.

We'll see. So far some 400 copies are gone and some retailers probably haven't even got their share... Anyone wants to bet how long it will take before this one's gone?
I'm happy Scream was re-released as a DX Ed. I'm hoping VS will consider releasing more 90's scores from Poledouris, Goldsmith, Silvestri and others for a DX Ed in the near future.
