To those who thought the score to INSIDIOUS was a great throwback to those atonal horror scores of the 1970's, such as Deathdream and Black Christmas, you will be glad to know that there will be a soundtrack release afterall. I emailed the composer, Joseph Bishara, telling him how much I like his score and inquired about a soundtrack release. Below is his gracious reply:

Hey Chip...
Thanks for the compliments....!
Glad you liked the score and film...

Working on assembling a soundtrack album, should have it available around DVD time.
Looking to do a cool package, limited release edition.

Tremendous news! "Insidious" is a great film, and the music was a huge part of its effectiveness. I was bummed to learn that there was no upcoming soundtrack, but I'm glad you took the initiative to find out the good news. Good work!

I also found out that Joseph Bishara played the red-faced demon in INSIDIOUS!! Interesting!!

I stumbled upon that tidbit when I was in search of the soundtrack. He's quite a character.

Can anyone provide any theories why, despite submitting copious details to them of the CD release (all culled from my own personal purchase of it), Soundtrack Collector (http://www.soundtrackcollector.com/) refuses to list this title or even acknowledge it exists?

That's odd, they seem to list his other scores. Anyway I can vouch for their existence, parts 1 and 2 (and looking forward to part 3)! big grin

I got this cd personally signed by Bishara as a gift from HWR in their Halloween contest a couple of years ago. A great and awesomelooking digipack smile
