I miss Sammy, and am sorry to find out that he only did one LP with Nelson Riddle.

Sammy Davis Jr. was one of the most talented Entertainers there EVER was!

I, too, miss him deeply, but I do have some great videos and CD Collections of him
doing what he did best - which was EVERYTHING! I also had the great pleasure of seeing him live twice, along with Morty Stevens conducting the Orchestra.

Great memories, for sure. We miss ya, Sammy and Mort - I'm
sure you guys are still performing for for the Angels together
up there...:-)

You and Zooba, I can only bow down before your greater experience of coolness! smile

Finally got a pretty decent scan of my photo at Harrah's Tahoe with Sammy's Marquee above.

And here it is again:

Love the picture. What a great memory.

It amuses me no end that Sammy dug Satanism strictly for the hot chicks.

Terry Wogan, who passed away this week, interviewed SDJ, and had a running gag for years about him being a 'two-bit entertainer'. Dry wit of course and no doubt SDJ loved that:

Opened from my stash this week his Capitol recordings from 1949:

I still miss Sammy.

Whether it was 1949 or 1979, Sammy was the shizzle, as demonstrated in this 1979 Christmas-themed Alka-Seltzer commercial. Sammy sings, shall we say, a version of "Tis the Season" with "adjusted" lyrics.

Sammy's ad starts at 2:22...

This commercial block is from Miami's NBC WCKT (now WSVN and sadly, FOX) affiliate, so it warms my heart all the more. smile
