This film comes out in just over two weeks (Feb 16) in France, but no word on Colosseum or Amazon.fr of a soundtrack release yet.

I sure hope there is one, as I loved the last score.

Until then, check out the official site, where three tracks can be heard.

http://largowinch2-lefilm.com/largo-winch-2.html

It would seem a soundtrack is coming, as they're labeled:

12, 16 and 17.mp3

Unfortunately don't bother trying to find the others by typing in the addresses for other numbers, I already triedfrown Just those three cues for now.

The film has a Facebook page, hopefully a soundtrack album will be announced there:

I hope this gets released. Largo Winch is my favourite Desplat score and I've been looking forward to this for quite a long time!

My only concern with the clips is no themes are brought back?

Thanks very much, James, for always pointing out these samples!

I really hope a soundtrack is forthcoming; it's probably my most anticipated score of this year.

Both these samples of the new score and Desplat's original give a pretty fair idea what a Bond score by Alexandre Desplat would be like. I could kick myself for not ordering the original WINCH score from Varese when it was available.

Unless I'm mistaken it has never been available from Varese on CD. They only released it in the US as an iTunes exclusive.

It was only released on CD by Colosseum in Germany, from whom it's still in print:

Glad to see that!

Also glad to see that CDs of this and Doyle's La Ligne Droite will be available directly through Varese, getting tired of paying crazy prices to get a physical CD form Colosseum in Germany. well done Varese!!!!

I managed to score a DVD of the original LARGO WINCH film and it's a very entertaining thriller (or corporate thriller), with Desplat giving the film a terrific lift. Well worth seeking out on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/France-Official-All-region-Slipcase-Version/dp/B0030HT8FS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1297341440&sr=1-2

Wish I could find English subtitled, region free DVD sets of the two seasons of the T.V. series, which had equally fine scoring by the late great Michel Colombier.

I've just ordered the Largo Winch film from Amazon.co.uk - it's dirt cheap there (but it's R2 of course).

So the Varese website says the EU release date (presumably Colosseum) is next Wednesday, 16th Feb. However the Colosseum site has the same date as the US release on the Varese site, 22nd March.

Does anyone know when and where this will be available first?

The Varese site is referring to the EU theatrical release date of the film, this Wednesday. It's confusingly worded. The CD is available from Colosseum in Europe on 3/22, the same day Varese starts stocking it here.

I figure Desplat will use some of the themes he created for the first film. I was excited when I saw that the art/tracklist were up because I knew you'd be thrilled to see them.

Cool. It's just me or Desplat has been recently fond it by the shakuhachi? He used it in Deathly Hallows and now in this one (and played by himself).
