This seems to be a major score missing from the composer's catalogue. It's tied to Universal, so hopefully not a problem?

Anyone else enjoy this score a lot? I adore the End Credits.

Its one of my favorites. I have the Promo Score disc that has the score only without the dialouge and songs from the film.

I too have wondered why it hasn't gotten another release. The promo runs 58:31 and I'm sure considering 140 min runtime, there must be atleast another 15-20 minutes worth of music.

An expanded/complete score-only release would be great, though most of the best material was on the OST.

It is a fantastic score, IMHO, and I love the cues from the Promo.

It's one of my favorite Horner scores and also one of my all time favorite scores. I was very unsatisfied with the poor album release with songs and dialog interspersed so I ponied up some real dough to buy an academy promo copy which is what the original album should have been. It fulfilled my expectations for the score and I enjoy it immensely.

For those who don't have the rare promo (or its b**t equivalent) and really like this score, an expanded release would surely be most welcome. Lately long Horner scores have left me bored as they seemingly drone on forever, but I never felt that way with the promo release which clocks in at very respectable 58 minutes.

I also liked this score much better than his oscar wining BRAVEHEART.

An expanded, dialogue free, version would be great (the only scores with dialogues that work for me are Blade Runer and Hannibal, but even those I'd prefer without dialogue).

Uh... Braveheart didn't win the Oscar for Best Original Score...

Luis Bacalov did for Il Postino.

The hatchet job on the Apollo 13 score was a tragedy. Would love to see an unblemished complete, officially released.

This may come. It's an important score.

FYI the complete 58 min "promo" score presentation was available on early DVD's as an isolated option in a "CD" format over one of the menus. The laser disc also featured the 58 minute isolated score as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if that long, non-dialog promo was released commercially one of these days, when you consider all the expanded scores we've been getting recently. It already exists as a CD master, so I assume it is "only" a matter of licensing.

It's been 15 years, I think this one is long over due.

You're right! My mistake.

Definitely one of my favorite James Horner scores. I particularly love "The Launch." I was thinking of just getting the existing soundtrack awhile back, but with all the terrific reissues coming out these days, I decided to just wait and see if we get a better release. It certainly deserves one.

Very true I forgot about that. I think if you choose "audio options" in set up the complete promo score will begin to play on its own.

The DVD isolated score is not in '"CD" format.' It is reportedly two channel 192 kbps AC3 (Dolby Digital).

Well, it's not really "missing" as there's a perfectly fine MCA release (with songs) as well as the score-only promo. But yeah, I'd take a good album version of this (score only) that contained the major highlights of the score. Superb end titles.

Has anyone in the labels [Lala Land, FSM, or Intrada] ever mentioned interest or has shed any light in the hold up over this film score's release?

There must a reason.

Love this score as well. One of my favorite Horner efforts!

This is one of my personal grails. I haven't touched the previous release as it's a horrid mishmash, so would love it if someone like Intrada, La-La Land, or FSM could release a proper score album. For me, this is definately one of the great unreleased scores.

I'm sure that none of the labels wouldn't have thought of it, so maybe it's being worked on, or maybe there are a lot of licensing issues which is holding it up / preventing it from being released.
