In a word: gorgeous

In two words: hauntingly gorgeous

In two words and two letters: Buy the CD.

Sorry Josh, but they are most certainly NOT words I would use to describe this score, and I love Horner's music.
Glad you enjoy it though smile

I'm gonna need more convincing. When La La announced it I was completely unfamiliar with this movie or the score. However, it being pre-titanic and directed by Friedkin, I thought it might be of interest. I checked out the samples online and it just wasn't my taste. I do think it's a great release for Horner fans and completists!

The sound samples were good enough for me. I bought it regardless, only because it's Horner (one of my favorites) and it's $15 rather than $20.

If it's common knowledge that the composer purposely composed a bad score for a bad film, then why spend my hard earned money on the soundtrack?

And the samples were not convincing in any way.

I was planning to blind buy it, but the samples made me stay away. Perhaps I should see the film.

Good point Maleficio.

Reminds me of a certain Joe Pesci scene.

Same here, the samples were the turn off for me.

Wouldn't be a very long party considering the score length wink

I`ve heard the Main Title on a compilation CD that is "unmentionable" (some of you might know which one) and I must say that kinda like that track. So if the rest of the score is like this track then count me in Josh to those who will buy it. However since I just received my latest soundtrack order that includes Human Target and Haunted Honeymoon among others I will therefore wait a little until I order next.

It's not really going to help, considering how little of the music is actually in the picture.

I'm with you, Josh. This score is of a piece with works like PATRIOT GAMES and THUNDERHEART. I think his more textural work is really interesting. It's an underappreciated segment of his filmography.

One for the completist. A very minor and uninspiring effort. Still I'm sure someone will want to stick on their CD shelf.

I have it on the way and am really looking forward to it. I kinda like the minimalistic, synthy, side of James Horner. I'm not expecting a gem like Thunderheart or The Forgotten or even The Pelican Brief. But maybe an Unlawful Entry...but without the great main theme.

Enjoyed the movie too back then, in a trashy kind of way, mainly due to the A-list (at the time) cast.
