The music from "Of Mice And Men" et. al was released in a "download only" format many months ago, with a promise that a physical CD would be available. Has anyone heard anything about how or when (or if) this is to occur? James

I don't know anything specific about this particular release, but I've been told that, unlike Copland himself, his estate can be extremely difficult to deal with. Second only, I hear, to the Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization.

Does that mean I have to return the files I downloaded when I bought this when it was (briefly) released as a download purchase?

Still waiting for this. I can't believe someone went through the effort of financing a new recording, but can't release it. So weird. To repeat what I said in the other thread.... It likely won't happen, unofrtunetly. In fact, it's surprising that The Classical Shop still has it up -- check out the bottom post here http://www.filmscoreclicktrack.com/2010/01/cd-review-of-mice-and-men-our-town/ -- "I have been informed by reliable sources in the music publishing business that the Naxos Recording has been delayed because of litigation from the Copland Estate and the music publishers. The producer, Mr Leneker, proceeded without securing the proper authorisations." Now it COULD be a lie/troll/misinfo, but considering it was supposed to be out forever ago and the fact that said producer used to post here and seems to have disappeared, I wouldn't hold my breath. (to add to that comment, Naxos's own DL site, Classicsonline, has NOT had the DL for quite a while now, which further adds to the likelyhood of the above)

Looks like I better get it from the British site before it disappears completely.
