I recently felt the need to reconnect to the music of old Genesis/Mega Drive titles I played when younger, at the beginning of the 90's. A few CDs are on the way : Landstalker, Ecco the Dolphin, Golden Axe, Shining Force II, etc.

So far, I've begun digging the Streets of Rage/Bare Knuckle compilation with all three episodes (for Michael24 : see http://vgmdb.net/album/33417 and http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B0086ZP38K/), and I'm really enjoying again these three tracks of the first episode :

    I feared the sound would be unbearable, but I forgot the 16-bit console generation was pretty well advanced back then (better with headphones though).
