HAUNTED SUMMER: LIMITED EDITION LLLCD 1148
Limited Edition of 1200 Units
Music by Christopher Young

RETAIL PRICE $19.98

ORDER “HAUNTED SUMMER: LIMITED EDITION” OCT. 19th at www.lalalandrecords.com

Presenting composer Christopher Young’s (LOVE HAPPENS, DRAG ME TO HELL, SPIDERMAN 3, HELLRAISER) original motion picture score to the 1988 Cannon Films period drama HAUNTED SUMMER, starring Philip Anglim, Laura Dern, Alice Krige and Eric Stoltz, directed by Ivan Passar. Mr. Young’s hauntingly beautiful score manages to be both contemporary to the time of the film’s release, yet strikingly effective in underscoring the film’s “summer of 1816” setting in which the film’s famous real-life characters (Lord Byron, Percy Bysshe Shelly, Mary Shelly, John William Polidori and Claire Goodwin) gather for a summit of minds and passion – resulting in two literary works of note – Frankenstein and The Vampyr. Produced by Ford A. Thaxton and mastered by James Nelson, this special release includes both the original album soundtrack presentation as well as never-before-released film versions of cues as heard in the film. Film music writer Randall D. Larson takes you behind the scenes of the film and its score with his exclusive, in-depth liner notes. This is a limited edition of 1200 Units.

GREYSTOKE: THE LEGEND OF TARZAN, LORD OF THE APES: LIMITED EDITION LLLCD 1144
Music by John Scott
Limited Edition of 3000 Units

La-La Land Records presents the premiere CD release of composer John Scott’s (THE FINAL COUNTDOWN, SHOOT TO KILL, NORTH DALLAS FORTY) magnificent orchestral score to the 1984 Warner Bros. feature film GREYSTOKE: THE LEGEND OF TARZAN, LORD OF THE APES, starring Christopher Lambert, Andie MacDowell, Ralph Richardson, Ian Holm and James Fox, directed by Hugh Hudson. Scott’s brilliant score bursts with the violence and vitality of the jungle, yet is also heart-moving and surprisingly gentle. This re-issue was produced by MV Gerhard and remastered by James Nelson from the original Warner Bros. ¼ inch album masters. While no elements were secured to give this wonderful score the expanded treatment it deserves, we were able to pull the OVERTURE and END CREDITS off the original magnetic track and present it here as Bonus Material. CD Booklet features in-depth liner notes by film music writer Jeff Bond. This release is limited to 3000 Units.

DUNSTON CHECKS IN: LIMITED EDITION
LLLCD 1147

Limited Edition of 1200 Units

Mr. Goodman fashions a delightful, sophisticated orchestral score in the grand comic farce tradition - bursting with energy and themes - to buoy all the rambunctious fun of the lead simian’s adventures within a posh, five-star hotel. Produced by Nick Redman and Michael Matessino, and mastered by Daniel Hersch at DigiPrep, this release is limited to 1200 units and features in-depth liner notes, including comments from the film’s director and others, by film music writer Daniel Schweiger.

HELL’S BELLES: LIMITED EDITION LLLCD 1149

Presenting the CD premiere of Les Baxter’s (THE DUNWICH HORROR, PANIC IN YEAR ZERO, BEACH BLANKET BINGO) original score to the 1970 AIP motion picture HELL’S BELLS, starring Jeremy Slate, Adam Roarke, and Jocelyn Lane, and directed by Maury Dexter. Baxter’s groovy, full-throttle rock score punches this fun biker flick into overdrive with uber-catchy riffs, fun vocals and late 60’s rock-era spills and chills. Produced by Ford A. Thaxton and mastered by James Nelson, this special release presents the original LP presentation, remastered, along with more than 15 minutes of never-before-released film-version score tracks. CD Booklet features in-depth liner notes by film music writer Randall D. Larson. Limited to 1200 units.

Human Target sounds great-- the series is not broadcast here, so I had never heard a single note from it so far.
Haunted Summer sounds nice, too.

I'm looking forward to getting them both.

I love Haunted Summer. If you haven't heard it I strongly urge you to pick it up.

The combination of synth and accoustic is sublime and has an almost timeless quality.

RENT IT. Not only is the series really good, but the music is spectacular. Season 1 came out not too long ago (at least over here in the USA). It's well worth your time.

I love Haunted Summer. If you haven't heard it I strongly urge you to pick it up.

The combination of synth and accoustic is sublime and has an almost timeless quality, and you can certainly hear a few seeds of what was to come in the recent and excellent Creation.

A great price for the 3 CD set to the enjoyable Human Target. Full orchestral music from a TV series, amazing! Picked up the Young too at the reduced price. Very nice haul this time out!

If I didn't buy Human Target, I'm afraid Jackie Earl Haley would search me out and kick my ass! smile

A question to those who love human target, would you say the samples are representative of the rest of the score? I have not seen the show and am not really interested in it but these samples sound far better than the usual Bear music. Is there still tons of the trademark heavy percussion like Bear likes to use in other formats?

Ordered Human Target within 2 minutes of its 1PM release; wasn't going to take any chances on getting an autographed copy! smile I was already excited about the release due to Bear's numerous blog posts about his score (http://www.bearmccreary.com/blog), but the La-La Land clips left me positively giddy!

I also picked up Haunted Summer (I've read nothing but good words about this score here at the FSM board), Caprica (repetitive but beautiful), Wrong Turn 2 ($1.98 + Bear McCreary + a strong recommendation from Spymaster? Heck yes!), and Trick 'r Treat (delightfully creepy and refreshingly thematic). A good haul at a great price, I'd say.

I love you, La-La Land Records!

Autographed Human Target cds are almost gone (Bear was kind enough to sign over 200 of them).
