FYI, If you go to ITUNES and put in the composer's name: Hiroshi Miyazawa into their search window, you'll find a good amount of music from the TV shows and the movies available for download for a very reasonable price. Ford A. Thaxton

Thanks for the tip, Ford. It's Miyagawa with a g that brings up the albums on iTunes, though not on Spotify, my preferred digital poison.

Earlier this year I did a whole 7-part series on the music of Space Battleship Yamato/Star Blazers. I finally put together a sort of entry page here: http://cuebycue.blogspot.com/p/space-battleship-yamato-music.html Anyways, to relate to the thread posts above, there were 7 Yamato productions, only 2 of which were broadcast in the US as Star Blazers, though a 3rd season was available in a limited form. Miyagawa is kind of a Burt Bacharach-style composer, but if Burt did Star Trek/Star Wars. It's really great stuff, as fans of the show well know. iTunes has the newest series of soundtrack releases, the "Sound Almanac" series, which is about 30 CDs. They are labelled by year, which is a bit weird, but suffice to say 1974 was a VERY GOOD YEAR! More specific details are to be found at the link above.
