I have both versions of the Gerhardt suite (from "Now Voyager" and the Post Office CD). The main addition is the piano music as used in the party scene at the Enright building.

I really liked that part of the score. Great that it was re-recorded!

oy talk about going from one Steiner score to another, I leave this thread and turn on TCM and at that very moment Sandra Dee is admonishing Troy Donahue "we need to be good." Then Troy scores, it's all rhythm & timing!

It was too-too-ripe when she said, "Do you ever feel NAUGHTY??"

Nobody agrees that Gary Cooper was not doing NEARLY as good a job as the rest of the cast?

I never thought he was sub-par with his colleagues in that picture. (Or in any picture, for that matter.) I think he did very well with a pretty impossible part, particularly for a guy who usually said as little as possible on screen.

Well, Roark is very stoic, so while Cooper is actually anchoring the film, the performances around him tend to come across as flashier.

Which is why Nimoy, e.g. was content as an actor to play Spock the way he did while the rest of the crew did their thing. You can call it a balanced ensemble. That worked.

He was great in BEWITCHED. Oh wait, that was Sergent York.
