That's some nice paint textures on the bronto.
It never occurred to me that it would be a partial-type design.
That's one way of saving costs (and sheer size), I guess.

I just remembered that at one point I decided to make my Allo's jaw moveable.
So I got in there with an exacto knife, separated the jaw, then reattached it with rubber glue.
Paint would never take on the glue line, but it was good enough for me.
I think I might have done that to my Aurora Godzilla, too.

I've made some feeble attempts at modifying some of my models but nothing so elaborate as moveable jaws. Your procedure kinda reminds me of the "Zap Action" from The Pirates of the Caribbean model kits. Which indecently are being re-released for the first time ever!

Still have my 1967 Aurora model catalog. The paintings are beautiful and the models never came close to how they were presented!
Brm

There's a couple of illustrated books on the Aurora models. I need to get them.

Believe me, it wasn't elaborate. It was pretty primitive.

Bowling game.
Ten wooden pins and the ball was on a tether.
Anyone else have this?

Airfix Model Figures in the 80s when i was little were the best for excellent toy soldiers. Really nice details and lots of variety: British, Germans, Afrika Korps, Japanese, Ghurkas, Russians, Paras, Commandos, etc., and also nice Waterloo soldier figures.

Britains Knights were also great toy soldiers, too, mounted and foot knights and saracens. Metal bases, plastic figures, if i recall correctly.

Lots of metal miniatures for D&D and Warhammer.

Other than that it was all, Star Wars figures, Action Man (GI Joe?), Visionaries, A-Team, Black Hole, and whatever film or cartoon was flavour of the month and had figures. It was all cap guns, replicas and war stuff.

Also LEGO (moon base, fire station), Scalextric, Subbuteo football.

My favourite was an ice hockey table top game my uncle brought back from an army stint in scandanavia, it was sweden v finland, i think.

TEST MATCH the cricket game was absolutely flippin' ace!

Board games: Lost Valley of the Dinosaurs, I Vant To Bite Your Finger, Hero Quest, Space Hulk.

Good stuff!

Yep, search for them on that forbidden place called Amazon.
