Dont quite understand the antipathy towards Murray. He has been steadily improving over the last few years and it was on the cards he had a chance of winning more titles. I know years ago he gave an anti english football quote about wanting Sweden to beat us but it was tongue in cheek. I guess his detractors use it as a stick to beat him with. Despite fed and nadal going out early he did well to get thru to the final even if he wasnt playing to his capacity - he did raise his game in the final.

I wouldn't diminish Murray's historic triumph, Bill. After all, he beat Djokovic, who won this very title two years ago against Nadal--and crushed him by the way-- so it's not like a Michael Stich beating Boris Becker kind of thing. It was simply Murray's time.
I've been hiding from the media since Sunday to avoid viewing any images of Sir Andy Murray.
The opposite to the PM who has appeared in many photos with Sir Andy Murray in order to increase his popularity. Makes a change to "running" the country I suppose.
