Set in the year 1912 on Cape Cod, the film tells the story about love, romance and friendship with Richard Dreyfuss playing the lead as an old, grumpy lightkeeper. The music is scored for strings, woodwinds, piano and fiddle and fuses long melody lines and beautiful harmony with American folk music elements. The music has been described as "wistful," "lovely," "lush," and "engaging" in various reviews of the film. We are proud to bring you this romantic orchestral score that stays in your heart for a long time! This was a random buy in the SAE clear-out a while back. $1.95..how could I go wrong. Been playing it A LOT this week and, once you move beyond the Thomas Newman temp-track issues that were probably imposed upon the composer, it becomes it's own thing. AND what a thing of beauty it is. Some lovely melodies and beautifully poignant themes threaded throughout the score. Pure and simple Americana music of the highest order. I shall have to investigate Mrs Toprak's music scores further. Any recommendations?
