Or how about David Rose's "Holiday For Strings"? (which DID have lyrics)

You have to take a big breath to sing it.

Mary Costa sang the lyrics on a Frances Langford television special which featured Don Ameche, Johnny Mathis, and The Three Stooges (You Tube post anyone?)

Steiner's "It Can't Be Wrong" was a big hit in the 40's. And "Theme from A SUMMER PLACE" is still big.

Theme from A Summer Place was a mega hit when I was in high school. I played it just the other day. Wonderful.

Kim Gannon composed the lyrics to "It Can't Be Wrong" and "Theme From A Summer Place" had lyrics by Mack Distant that were heard in a vocal version by The Lettermen and other vocalists.
