The rumor is that it may come in the fall as an entry in the revamped/redesigned Walt Disney Treasures DVD series.

I saw this in Westwood last year. Actually, it was Marc Shaiman who posted about it on his Facebook page, that got me to really make it a point of getting out to see it. It's a very moving and sad documentary in that the two brothers became estranged for many, many years. I HIGHLY recommend the film. It does a great job of telling their story and celebrating their music. James James just curous, are the brothers closer now? Or are they still estranged?

I saw it listed in a local film festival but missed it. I'm dying to see it.

LaughingPlace.com has a link where you can rent it from iTunes, if you don't want to wait: http://www.laughingplace.com/Latest.asp?I1=ID&I2=74440 They also say, "although rumors continue to circulate that Disney will release this documentary on DVD, with recent comments indicating it could be packaged with documentaries "Waking Sleeping Beauty" and "Walt and El Grupo," there has been no official announcement of its arrival." This would coincide with what I read elsewhere that these three new titles would make up a "wave" of Disney Treasures DVDs for this year. I really hope they don't do it this way, as the annual Treasures series has been soley dedicated to classic animation and vintage programs for almost ten years now. But I still want them to get The Boys out on disc. I'm dying to see it too.

If you like the music of the Sherman Brothers, look for a new musical coming to Broadway (maybe as soon as the end of this year). It's a trunk musical consisting of Sherman songs made up of songs too dark for the likes of Disney, it incorporates a great deal of stage magic, and is slated to star Florence Henderson.
