I would probably cool it with these theads, because people might start to hate you if you go too nuts with them.

I really love poledouris and this score, but i also have to say that the entire thing can be tiresome to go through because there is not nearly as much variation as in comparable scores such as starship troopers or robocop. A lot of parts from the score feel alike, almost interchangeable. I would still welcome an expansion though and i hope that this cross-fade into the end credits song wont be on any future release again. I just dont like it when score cross fades into a song.

We were gypped at 24 minutes. Well, some were, a friend gave me the cd. Still, 24 minutes= Gyp.

This adds up to 1:26:42. More than an hour extra material. IMO the score to US2 is some of the best pure action/adventure music ever written. Maybe it is, but 1:26:42 has to be on two discs and that's going to be more expensive. You could probably cut it down to a more financially viable single disc by dropping the alternate versions and some of the very short tracks (the ones that run less than 30 seconds). Even 76 minutes is probably too long. The fact that a CD can hold that much is no reason for filling it up.

50 -60 min would be perfect for this score, a big, propulsive thriller from Basil. Agreed that the original CD was a tremendous screw job at 24 minutes of score, the ending song by Segal must have been something contractual, why in the name of all that's good and pure in this world would it have been included otherwise? Because it was basically a theme song recorded specifically for the film, and theme songs are typically included on the soundtrack release. But, neither the movie, or the score, seem to have enough of a following to merit an expanded release, sad to say The movie was a pretty decent hit when it was released, and I know some fans who consider it one of Seagal's last good movies before he hit his direct-to-video career. I used to think we'd never have an expanded Eraser because I never saw it talked about much, so who knows? I think as several unexpected releases in recent years have shown, just about anything is possible these days.

Nice to see the love you have for this. Varese would have loved to have had a long version back in the day but since this was prior to that AFM under 15,000 units deal they could only do 30 or so minutes like so any of those Varese scores from back in the day. An expanded would be great and I'd love to get a copy.
