Hmm $26.99? Is it a limited edition release?

Nope, that is simply Amazon refusing to offer a discounted price. It will be available direct from Zero Day Releasing and other vendors at a cheaper price. Stay tuned!

FYI for anyone wondering, the original music used in Night of the Living Dead is not public domain and is very expensive to license since the rights have reverted to multiple publishers.

I myself was wondering this exactly as there have been so many dvd/vhs releases of NOTLD. Are you yourself involved with this release or can shed some light on the Zero Day label?

Yes, I'm the owner of Zero Day Releasing and producer of this CD. Our first release was a documentary on Night of the Living Dead released last year called Autopsy of the Dead. You can find out more information about the documentary here: http://www.LivingDeadDocumentary.com

Technically, the music used in Night of the Living Dead was copyrighted long before the film was released, so any VHS or DVD release would need to license the music regardless of the film's legal status. Romero & co. paid a flat rate to Capitol Hi-Q for use of the music in broadcast and theatrical release only. There were no home video rights negotiated back in 1968.

Thanks for your interest!

It took approximately 2-½ years to research and locate all of the library cues used in the film. 41 of which are included on this CD. There is one partial track that has never been identified and is not listed on the cue sheet, so it obviously won't be included on the CD.

If this is who I think it is, this is Peter we met at the convention a few weeks ago. Guys, the amount of work, they have done to get this to you, OH MY GOD. I listened to him tell me and I just kept shaking my head in disbelief all the effort that went into this. Now I understand why Varese didn't want to put this on CD, it would have costed a lot, PLUS taken so much darn time.

After hearing what all went into getting this to us, finding it, the legal snafu's etc. $26.99 is a bargain price, trust me!!

by the way Dubious, this is Peter Hackman.

Now that you're done, you can get cracking on organizing the Harry Lubin library cues for Outer Limits season 2. big grin

Thanks for the information. I never realized the magnitude of such a project. Sounds well worth the price, so I'll be staying tuned for sure!

The track titles are interesting. It's the original cue titles for sure. I'd like to hear it.

Originally used in Hideous Sun Demon and Teenagers From Outer Space.

Is this a CD-R (ala Amazon's CDs on Demand service) or an officially pressed CD?
