It's more action oriented, less dark. I enjoy it for different reasons than the Young scores. It's fantastic though!

Haven't played it in ages but I think i's at least as good as (or nearly).Big and Ballsy.

I know I'm in the minority but as a big fan of both composers I actually prefer Miller's score to both of Young's. Maybe it's the Goldsmithian rhythmic action music (not a ripoff or anything, I can still tell it's Miller). I think it's just a fantastic score, as are most by Miller...wish more of his stuff were released. And I know the fan favorite of the trilogy is Young's second score but I actually prefer his first. Not as overblown (and "bombastic" I guess is what people like) but still very thematic and creepy as heck. Yavar

I've always wondered if Stokowski's arrangement of Rachmaninoff's "Prelude in C-Sharp Minor" (aka "The Bells of Moscow") was the inspiration for the whole HELLRAISER music world. Though I might just be crazy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91YHq-ayIvc

Hell on Earth has great music by Miller and I especially love the Emergency room track (featured at the Boiler room massacre and the ending again) Young had strong themes, and will forever be THE composer for the Hellraiser mythos, but Millers is equally good here i.m.o

Often overlooked, but also worth checking out, is Daniel Licht's score to Hellraiser: Bloodline. Though best known for his work on Dexter, Licht wrote some solid, Young-ish horror and thriller scores back in the 90s. The Licht effort is a wonderful follow up to both the Young and Miller scores. Bloodline has gotten it's fair share of spins over the years. I come back for the more subtle, almost lyrical, parts again and again.

Though best known for his work on Dexter, Licht wrote some solid, Young-ish horror and thriller scores back in the 90s. Very true... And, Licht, of course, worked with Young on a few projects. Also try is THINNER and BAD MOON scores. Good stuff. Oops... one more... CHILDREN OF THE CORN: THE FINAL SACRIFICE... absolutely terrific... Back to Miller... The score is a knockout action score. The most played of the series (when they were still theatricals and not those idiotic direct to vid's). Not to mention Licht's CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT and SOUL SURVIVORS.

I really like this Randy Miller score. Parts remind me of Capricorn One mashed harshly with Hellraiser. It's really decent and sounds big and punchy.
