I played this score today for the first time in ages. A bit of a strange one from Horner, to me. Much like A FAR OFF PLACE, there are sections were I suspect his orchestrator may have completed the cues. Some tracks sound disimilar to the usual Horner licks, and one cue is very similar to other works by Don Davis, who helped orchestrate this one. There is no denying the origin of the scores main themes. They are trademark Horner...and the softer melody is one of his most beautiful compositions. ( I'm sure I'll find out here what classical work it's based on now ) Anyway, any other fans of this score? Yeah, I feel that way about this at times, too. "Hot Pursuit" in particular sounds more like Silvestri than Horner. It's still fun, though.

It certainly is a fun score but IMO probably the least of the Don Bluth scores. Before there was any reissue of this one I'd want a complete, remastered Land Before Time Balto (more than 15 minutes of GREAT music could be added to this one) Secret of NIMH (don't even get me started) at the very minimum. Not a Don Bluth movie (and neither was Balto, for that matter). Dang, you're right! But We're Back in particular feels very...Bluth-y. Yavar
