Holy film re-evaluation and thread resurrection, Batman! As I understand it, the only decent DVD version of Revolution is Hudson's "Revisited" cut, which makes numerous changes, notably lopping off the happier, if improbable ending sequence. Well, for those interested, breace thyselfs, for the BFI are releasing the Goldcrest-busting film on blu-ray, with all the DVD extras - and with both versions! http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=8222 So, for those like me who've always wanted to see it with additional Kinski, and with the beautiful final cue that Corigliano wrote - included on the CD, but not in the currently available version of the film - this is really great news.

I'm probably on this thread somewhere already - but I'll chime in again, I hated this film when first released but found the 'director's cut' a revelation. I was able to get by all my initial objections. And the CD? It's incredible and I concur with whoever just said it's not your typical afternoon BBQ 4th of July fare - but what an evocation of the depth of the conflict and struggle.
