We’ve confirmed that the Space: 1999 – Bringers of Wonder BD will be a UK/Region B exclusive Blu-ray on Network’s online store only (we’ll have a review soon). But if you have an all-region Blu-ray capable of playing Region B discs, Indigo has just released Anderson’s complete UFO series on Blu-ray in Germany (that comes out to about $84 US dollars). The discs are probably the same transfers that were recently released on Blu-ray in Japan (which are Region A discs, but which will set you back $270 to import to the States). No word yet on whether they’re coming in the US, but we’re working to find out about that, as well as a US release of the full Space: 1999 – Season Two later in 2015. More as it comes in.
was only humming this theme yesterday. Cool series. Especially the " purple-wigged babes" as per you guys pics. And wanda of course. i loved this series and in the uk one of the episodes featured two youngsters in a barn who get abducted by the aliens - was shown in the mid-70s by Itv at 11 pm at night!! - maybe because of the subject matter?

I remember the series starting on LWT, early on a Saturday evening. Some of the later episodes, such as Cat with Ten Lives and The Long Sleep were relegated to a late Friday night slot, because of the subject matter.
forgot to say john that the two youngsters in the barn were hippies high on drugs. So it was a bit of a trippy episode, clearly a bit too adult for saturday mornings.
Couldnt tell you what night of the week it was. We used to get southern and anglia and Thames/Lwt with our indoor aerial and back then different regions screened different programmes.

I seem to remember it was directed by David Tomblin and Tessa Wyatt guest starred. Another trippy one was Timelash.
When I see the odd episode of this on the telly, it's not the purple wigs, the clumsily streamlined cars or the string vest uniforms that jar the most; it's that they're smoking in the workplace.
