I totally agree with every word of this review...but then I would!
I was a bit surprised by the general lack of reviews and comments elsewhere....but the CD is selling well and I have had quite a few direct emails of congratulations from colleagues.
Most of us have seen the countless copies of the original RCA soundtrack Lp in thrift store bins for a buck. I'm convinced people got ride of the original because of the album's absolutely lousy, tinny sound and the lack of coherence in the track choice and sequencing. The Lp never really made sense to me as in integrated listen. Well...this new Tadlow CD is simply off-the-chart. It instantly places Gold's score in the top scores ever list. The variety, nuance, amount of melodies is simply overwhelming. I've never been a fan of the complete score until now. Thanks to all the folks who KNEW that this score was deserving of such treatment.

Couldn't agree more Bob. If you go back a bit in time and imagine how it sounded in mono with a tube amp it was ok. But compared to some of my other lp's of comparable age it was definitely inferior. This new recording solves that problem. Thomas
I was listening this morning to the Definitive Horror Collection from Silva, specifically Dressed to Kill and I just had to marvel at the huge improvement the City of Prague orchestra has made from this recording to Exodus. Thomas
Nice reviews - both of them - for what I find to be an exemplary new recording of a great score. Kudos to Mr. Fitzpatrick, the Prague orchestra, and everyone involved.
I received my copy today, and have listened to it twice so far. This is a truly remarkable recording of an equally remarkable score, and all involved deserve the highest praise.
Bumped this previous thread because I wonder how many people had gotten this re-recording not for Ernest Gold's EXODUS but for the misc. selections on CD#2 of Elmer Bernstein (CAST A GIANT SHADOW), Jerry Goldsmith (QB VII) and/or SCHINDLER'S LIST by John Williams?
