Talking of Red October, My favorite Connery moment is from that great flick and doesn't actually feature Connery at all. Its the bit when Jack Ryan imitates Marko Ramius as he says;

"Ryan, some things in here don't react well to bullets." Yeah, like me. I don't react well to bullets"

The thing that really cracks me up is that the scene is played out by an American, doing an imitation of a Lithuanian in charge of a Russuan sub, who speaks with a scottish accent!!!

I love love love The Untouchables - one of my all time favorite movies (odd, considering I hate, hate hate Abrian DePalma!) and Connery is great in it.

Its always kind of bothered me, though, that he seemingly makes no effort at all to disguise his scottish accent whilst portraying an Irish cop!

cool

If'n your Swiss bank account doesn't allow you to obtain that grand Blu-Ray extravaganza of all the Bond films, ya might wanna pick up these equally nifty double DVD primo packages spotlighting Der Great Scot's six Official 007 opuses ("Dr. No" thru "Goldfinger" on Volume I, then "Thunderball", "You Only Live Twice" and "Diamonds are Forever" on Volume II):

Will anyone ever Do It Better? wink

cool

Watched Diamonds are forever - again - yesterday. Some great lines in it, and not all Connerys.

That irritating kid at the water balloons Hey! I saw the whole thing! Whos she? Your mother!!?
"Blow up your pants!!"

"Hi, sorry to disturb you, im Klaus Hergescheimer......G section???...checking...radiation...shields.....??"

"Exceptionally fine shot."
"i didnt know there was a pool down there"

"Doctor Tynan sent us. He couldnt make it. Bitten by the bug..."

Burt Saxby??? Tell him he's fired!!!

Its very well written. Great phrasing. When you watch these older Bonds over the years you dont realise how much of the dialogue you absorb and it sort of enters folklore and becomes part of culture.

Beyond the Bond groan lines, after the Connery films and maybe some of the Moore efforts, You cannot say that about the later ones. Forgettable dialogue from Dalton onwards.

I will be lambasted for saying this but--- I find Bond his least interesting role.
But there were lots of other good ones.
