Giving it a chance again and there's a lot to like, but damn, the parts that sound like Titanic are SO distracting =/

What parts are that?

Since you asked, it's obviously because like me, you don't hear any "Titanic" in this score either. With Horner people always tended to look for (or in this case listen for) similarities and make connections where there really weren't any.

There aren't parts that sound like Titanic. A passage of the end credits have a string / flute melody similar to a passage in the end credits of "Braveheart", but that's really it.

Toward the beginning of the score, I wanna say track 3. I don't mean the parts of Titanic temp-tracked with Enya. Just something about it reminds me of the main theme--do ra me so fa me ra do do ti la so, etc.

Are you sure you're not listening to Avatar?

J/k, I love both scores.

.....

The version of the score in the film is crazy different than the score on CD, with lots of alternates. Details:

Never heard that Goldsmith quote before.
Anyone know what actually caused Howard to fall out with Horner on this film?

I recall an interview with Horner were he alluded to a disagreement and said he 'couldn't save' the movie, or something to that effect.
