I know that someone would probably suggest a link to earlier Colombier threads but since his birthday would have been today I thought I start a new one instead of replying to any of those so here we go: Michel Colombier would have turned 70 years old today if he had been alive.

And while I`m at it I could not resist of asking: Since I am only familiar with some of his american scores which ones of his american scores would you love to be released?

I`ll start with a complete score only release of Posse would have been nice but I could also mention Who`s Harry Crumb? and Ruthless People.

Hello, Tobias. I'd be interested in seeing any and all of MC's output released. I have really enjoyed the 2 disc Kritzerland set of UNE CHAMBRE EN VILLE.

Hi, I love Michel Colombier film music and also his other music projects like Wings, Old Fool Back On Earth and Capot Pointu.

It will be great to have more music from his film like Un Flic.
I am glad that you mention Who`s Harry Crumb? -great music. Also like his music from film Screwed.

Colombier was immensely versatile and had a hand in almost everything - from pop to classical to film music. However, my favourite part of his music was unquestionably the smooth 80's electronic stuff.

Could we PLEEEEEASE get a legit release of THE GOLDEN CHILD?

He arranged one of Johnny Mathis's albums, called A Special Part Of Me, in 1984. I've always thought it one of my least favourite albums. It wouldn't induce me to search out more of Colombier's work. Am I wrong - should I?

Instead of releasing his dreary 80's stuff (except the James Woods' "Against All Odds" and "Cop"), Let's hope a brave label will let us hear his 70's masterpiece:
"Colossus, The Forbin Project".

I think a soundtrack/score to The Money Pit would be cool, there were so many fun pieces of music, songs, score etc. I loved the ending when they used Beethoven's 9th, but a rock band behind it, it sounds really cool.

...and his score to the Pamela Anderson stinker Barb Wire was way better than the film it was written for so why not a score release to this one?

Colombier was a truly gifted film composer who should have been given many more high profile assignments. It's a shame that his career was cut short by his premature passing.

I hope Intrada's seemingly good relationship with Universal may someday yield up such goodies as COLOSSUS: THE FORBIN PROJECT and a wonderful made-for-tv score from THE OTHER MAN.

The French CD for the TV version of LARGO WINCH is also well worth seeking out.

Love Toothless People...I mean Ruthless People. It was nice to have the Neighborhood Watch piece on the existing soundtrack, but there was a lot more of that fun score that I'd love to hear independently from the film. Veeeeeeery '80s.

I came across this wonderful site about Colombier. The more I listen to him, the more I realize that he wrote lots of very good music.

Those words about the sky the day he passed away...coupled with that melancholic harmonica from WINGS...almost too much

I can't recall if it was on the poster or the end credits, but they did advertise a soundtrack release. Such a shame it never happened.

Edit: Well, for sue it was on the British quad poster - and here it is

The Wizard of Loneliness. That's the score I want most on CD by Michel Colombier.
