When I was a kid, I had a crush on her as she appeared in "The Mary Tyler Moore Show."

In Kiss Me Deadly.

Was that her really doing the screaming in the next scene?

Frank De Vol provides a nice, fairly atonal, cue in that next "screaming" scene... when the hood is being pedantic about Cloris being dead. I wonder who wrote it.... wink

Let ua not forget she was also "Lassie's mom" before June Lockhart.

I saw Cloris and Linda Kaye Henning (Petticoat Junction) in a summer stock production of Wonderful Town years ago. Both were pretty darn good in that show. Cloris was a delight after the show signing programs for audience members (A regular feature that many of the stars participated in)

Don't forget her magnificent performance as "Gam Gam" in Beerfest!

Possible NSFW.

Will never forget her in her Nazi uniform applying that "hurts so good" discipline to Harvey Korman! She is the best!

So far this has been a day for looking backwards, what can I say, but when Cloris is burned into your mind because it's the 60s, you're a kid, and she's the Mom who's kid whisks 'em all into the cornfield when he gets pissed--and then decades later there's Cloris, there's Billy Mumy, there's Cloris's granddaughter who's the spitting image of "Anthony"...and all on top of that there's Frau Blucher, Phyllis, The Last Picture Show...it's utterly remarkable.

I remember the second spin-off from the Mary Tyler Moore Show, Phyllis. I was still in my very young days of recording opening titles off tv with an audio cassette recorder. Had it on a compilation tape for ages. And this was still in the days when US shows were still being broadcast by mainstream UK stations.

So she does bring back memories for me. God bless her.
