I haven't found much info online as to why Bernstein's score was tossed for this one. Some say New Line was happy with it but Walter Hill was not. The CD's liner notes don't go into any detail whatsoever. I'm actually a big fan of this score. It's really unusual in terms of it's percussive nature and I think it works great in the film giving it a kind of off-beat noir quality. The Cooder score is also excellent.
To - The Mutant : Really enjoying these and what might have been. Terrific effort, thanks.
Glad you dig them. These are some of the most challenging clips I’ve attempted. His spotting is very unique and totally different than Cooder’s. The album combined lots of short pieces into longer tracks that I had to cut up and figure out the scenes.
