I agree with you concerning the musical impact of "Logan's Run". The other series you mentioned haven't aged well because they were designed for kids, especially "The Fantastic Journey" which was anachronistic in terms of achievement--it's done with the means of a late 1960's "Star Trek" episode. Too bad you omitted to add the 1975 series "The Invisible Man", starring David McCallum whose pilot was decent, even by today's standards.

Obviously this is a coincidence but The Invisible Man theme sounds like Schindler's List! Is that Mancini? imdb was vague.

Oh God, Man from Atlantis. When I was a kid I used to try to swim like him. I must have looked ridiculous.
I remember working at committing those themes to memory becasue I knew the shows wouldn't last and would never be rerun and I'd never hear them again. Didn't count on YouTube ... or FSM for that matter.
I can hum the theme to the William Shatner-Doug McLure series Barbary Coast, too, if anyone's interested.
Barbary Coast! I watched about two episodes solely for Shatner, but I'm pretty sure it was on opposite something I actually liked.
Meanwhile, I kind of enjoyed the Invisible Man theme. It's got a little bit of the catchiness to it, undoubtedly due to Mancini's inability to write a melody that's not somehow memorable.
And Man From Atlantis -- yes, I, too, sadly swam that way in the pool all summer and later embarrassed myself in front of a cute girl because of it. Ugh. But I still love the tune played at the end of the first pilot during the section when Mark has left Elizabeth on the beach and then starts recalling his adventures, only to turn around and say "I have not yet learned enough." That one section, that melody, is my one and only remaining Holy Grail. I want it and, now that we've lost Karlin, I fear I shall never have it.

Harnell's INCREDIBLE HULK theme with the urgent piano intro still gets me, to say nothing of that eternally-haunting "Lonely Man" theme!
Lonely Man theme is one of the greatest TV melodies of all time.

Never got much into MAN FROM ATLANTIS and FANTASTIC JOURNEY, but I remember loving BARBARY COAST. I recall it being a good show (don't know if I'd think that now, since I was in grade school at the time) and enjoying Shatner's disguises. I was disappointed when it was canceled, and durned if I don't remember that catchy theme, too! That's a show I wish they'd put on DVD, to see if it holds up to my vague memories of it ...

That must have been it. I loved the Shat, but invisible trumps old west & disguises.

You and me both. I treasured my audio tapes of those epiodes for a long time. Now it's been so long since I've played them, I'm afraid to see if they still work. What if they get eaten by the cassette player?
The MFA melody you're talking about was re-used in several episodes as the title character's personal theme.
