Are there any fans of Jon Pertwee's "Doctor Who"?
Pertwee played in 5 seasons that ran from 1970 to 1974.
Find the episodes list:

What are your favourite seasons and episodes?
And why do you like them?

I'm awaiting the republication of ABOUT TIME 3 to read the intense analysis of the Pertwee era and I'v also had my eye on THE TIME WARRIORS DVD. I've never seen a Pertwee episode except bits from the DVD special features. I read the novelization of the Dinosaur Invasion and while it was a Pertwee story, the novelization has Baker's Doctor as the protagonist.

I'm awaiting the Dalek War boxset of Frontier In Space and Planet Of the Daleks. Episodes 3 of POTD has been colourised, but I'm assured it's very good. Here's the link for the Doctor Who Restoration Team. Click on DVD Releases and you will find the work that was carried out on this story.

One of my all time favourite Pertwee stories was The Daemons, from Season Eight. Along with Pertwee, you have UNIT, The Brigadier "chap with the wings, five rounds rapid" and of course Roger Delgado's Master. A true classic of Doctor Who.

The Master poses as the bishop: very wild!
I read the restoration article: very edifying. Thanks.
I read in the Doctor Who site that the Spring schedule is closed which means the Dalek War box set (may) appear for this Summer.

I only know the Master from the Baker years. Roger Delgado I only know by reputation.

BTW, why do they bother with UNIT when they had Torchwood back during Queen Victoria's reign? Where was Torchwood during all those invasions of Earth during the Pertwee era? Continuity...

I think the next title is Image Of the Fendhal, which could be September, but that hasn't been confirmed.

Doctor Who (Pertwee) worked with UNIT only.
I advise you to buy some episodes with the original Master in these American editions:
"The Claws of Axos"

"The Sea Devils"

By chance, I found my copy of that novelisation the other week and it's Pertwee on the cover.

I think the U.S. novelization capitalized on Tom Baker's eps being broadcast on PBS and this is a first printing from May, 1979. I was hooked on the Doctor big time around 1979-80. There's even a blurb inside stating that the adventure features the fourth Doctor.

Incidentally, during that 1980 Doctor Who obsession of mine I felt like I made some great breakthrough; British adventure! Too bad all of my friends hated it, otherwise I probably would have stayed with the show after Baker's (traumatic for me) departure.

Pertwee was slightly before my time. I have seen episodes and think I wouldn't have been into Doctor Who as much if he'd been my childhood Doctor instead of Tom Baker.

For me, Jon Pertwee is Worzel Gummidge, and very brilliant he is too!
