I have the DvD and seen the movie loads of times. It will be interesting to see how the score alone tingles and tangles. Always liked the way Garcia scored the moment when George gets spooked in the forest. Russ make it magical. This movie is blended with charm. I saw it when I was 10 on a white&black TV screen and it haunted me for years... If someone among the boarders owns a piano sheet music rendition of the theme and is able to scan it into PDF I would be the happiest man... I know a piano sheet music got released at the time but I don't know if it was the "Rozsaesque" Main Theme or the unforgettable "London 1900" theme, one of the most beautiful theme ever composed to express nostalgia.    Posted:   Oct 24, 2011 - 11:48 AM     By:   Superman1701   (Member) One of my favorites. A thematically rich and downright gorgeous score with some really quirky and fun orchestrations, The Time Machine is, if you'll pardon the pun, timeless. LOL    Posted:   Jan 29, 2012 - 5:13 PM     By:   book1245   (Member) I've recently bought a few CD's in an effort to update my iTunes library with the expanded versions of applicable albums, and I got to The Time Machine. The re-recording on GNP's label was one of the first CD's I owned, and The Time Machine itself is the first movie that made me consciously realize that film score music was what I enjoyed most, so this movie and its soundtrack have a very special place in my heart. That said, since I own the original CD, how much would users recommend FSM's CD? I notice that it's only 10 minutes longer, but since the original CD is about 40 minutes, that extra ten minutes is like another 25% of music, which seems like a considerable chunk.    Posted:   Mar 3, 2012 - 9:47 AM     By:   book1245   (Member) A month later, I decided "Why the hell not, it's not expensive" and gave FSM's The Time Machine a shot. It really does seem so very different from the rerecording I owned for years. The differences are very subtle, but enough that a clear comparison can be made, and I just love it! I really love the sound quality as well, but that's no surprise from this label. Russ Garcia died not too long ago, but, I always hoped he might have taken a look at the site to see how revered this score is to a fair number of us. Always a fan of the film and score which veers from ultra-romantic to avant-garde. One question . There is an aggressive action theme which I swear is note-for-note from THE FIREBIRD. The main theme is very Rozsa-esque. Maybe Russ took a trip in time to 1979!!!!!
