Does anyone know why the TV show, incredible theme to He-man was not used in the movie score? I love that theme song, one of the greats from the 80's. Did Conti think it wasn't so good and that he could come up with something much better. I know I'll buy the masters of the universe, hopefully they will have signed copies, but the music didn't do much for me, now if the tv theme was incorporated into the score, that would have been sweeeeeet.

I think maybe Conti might have done some cool rendition of it or a few notes or something with it. Maybe not the whole theme but Conti is very talented he could have incorporated it very nicely. I'm guessing the director didn't want it, he wanted his movie to stand on his own and that he/she didn't need the theme.

The Varese is enough for me, in this instance. Haven't listened to it in a long time. It's not that great a score.

The Varese is enough for me, in this instance. Haven't listened to it in a long time. It's not that great a score. Perhaps that's because you haven't heard the Gym Fight! Easily my favorite piece in the score, it was omitted entirely form the Varese. Sure there are some Road Warrior and Holst Mars licks in there, but there's a really exciting, uber-dark (original?) motif that is so cool. With lots of clanging metal percussion to boot.
