This sounds like an extension of availability, if I am reading things right. Thumbs up to Lukas for running a second print of this release... I wanted to thank you and those others involved despite the fact I already have the set, because of the reasoned flexibility - and thereby the accommodation of fans of the music - such an action displays.

Tangible sense, great music, good move. Very cool. More of this please...

(Damnation Alley... cough... expanded ST II and III... cough)

(damn cough)

Such a great set. I hope everyone who wanted to buy one did. Thanks to all who were involved in getting this awesome music out to us fans!

While the box set was definitive, a separate release of the respective four films could easily be reissued as standalone issues. These fine scores derserve to be in print. I think LLL records are best suited for this endeavour starting with Superman I. I know I will buy them again.

P.S. A fresh new booklet using the book materials and of course fresh revised artwork featuring better pics and Jim Titus artwork and last but not least a fresh new essay by Mike Mattessino would be awesome.

I'd triple-dip for an added bonus track of "Lois Pad."

Proud owner of the box set, but I do think they should release all the scores independently for those that want to pick and choose, or can't afford to put down the money for the entire set.

Glad it sold out! Very happy with mine. Got it when it originally went up back in 2006

Indeed. These should be available ad infinitum.

I loved that it was a box-set though. I was pleasantly surprised at Sandy Courage's Superman IV. Considering how really, really bad the film is, I'm sure a lot of people would otherwise have skipped the music to this film. And if you love Williams' score to the first film (and who doesn't), I feel listing to IV should be obligatory.

Good idea for those who may want them, I thought that may well have happened by now. I only have the Rhino 2CD release of 'Superman' though, it's enough for me from these films.

If they had released these scores separately, I might have skipped the Ken Thorne scores. I'm so glad I couldn't because the improved sound on them makes it much clearer how much craftsmanship went into the arrangements and the energetic performances Thorne elicited from his orchestra. The Blue Box turned me from ambivalent to enthusiastic about his contributions. I also have to say that the Ron Jones disc included in the set was also very entertaining, and a lot of fun to listen to.

Also, the notes are exhaustive and explain everything.

This was, seriously, one of the best box sets ever.

I too would like to see individual sets of each. However, the total content from S:TM would slightly exceed two discs (to include extras from disc 8) and the Honeymoon Suite from S2 wouldnt fit on 1 disc either. So be prepared for slight edits.

For any late bloomers, MovieMusic.com still has them.

Agreed.
I still get a warm fuzzy glow everytime I handle the merchandise.

Ditto when I handle my Lethal Weapons...(box set) wink

I'm a little past the point of triple-dipping, it seems. smile

Wow, impressive, Zap!!

What about the Varese sampler, isn't that cheating, this is from Debney's rerecording when I am not confusing things

Buying each individual score (including shipping) would cost almost the same as buying the box. And would individual releases of the four scores include the Ron Jones Superman cartoon scores? I mean, these scores deserve to remain in print in some form or another, but I'm more than happy with the FSM box, and it was appropriately priced for the amount of content.

Thanks!

GREAT COMPOSERS: JOHN WILLIAMS does include the main titles from Varese's 2-CD set, yes. It's an excellent sampler of other things, too.
