... no wonder the drive home went so well (and so quickly: head south, cruise control, sleep ...)
Heh heh
Was it an urban myth that someone in the USA put on the cruise control then fell asleep, injured themselves and subsequently sued the vehicle manufacturer?
I heard they bogugt a motorhome, put the cruise control on - then nipped in the back to make a coffee.
Also, i be back in late July or September - i wants portable soup, lobscuse, goose and truffle pie and spotted dog. I'll only be drinking pints of coffee and port so you better order a shed-load in.

Excellent - you can have the cello, and I'll take the violin.
Well last Saturday we made it a second time ... though neither of us (nor our better halves) could recall the year of the first occasion (only that it was over six years ago). The search engine works and so I can report that some 8yrs 8mths on we have enjoyed a second evening with TG and his lovely wife.
And as before, we soundtrack fans didn't spend the whole time talking music.
A wonderful occasion with one regret and one hope: it was over far too quickly ... and it won't be another 8yrs 8mths before our third meeting.

Sounds like a threat!
We had a great time in the company and generous conviviality of the excellent Mr and Mrs MusicMad, and it hardly seems possible that it was over 8 years since we met. We spent so much time just catching up that we barely scratched the surface of the subject that brought us together in the first place.
Looking forward to the next time, whenever we can engineer it!

Thank you for your kind reply. Yes, we must talk music next time ... and listen, if possible.
And the only threat is that if you don't visit The Midlands in the next few years I shall drive North, bringing my stepladder ... so that I can climb high enough to hit you over the head!
