I cannot believe how beautiful this score is! The film certainly hid some fo the finer moments of this music. I KNEW that James Newton Howard would do more than justice for this score!
I listened to it three times yesterday and it got better every time.

Wonderful use of choral too!

Thank you for another outstanding listening experience JNH wink

Anyone know how the score on the album and the score in the film correlate?

I have no real clue as the action scenes, sound effects covered up most of what might have been heard had the score been cranked up a bit.

In my opinion anyways

I do not recall hearing much of the material on the CD in the film. Which makes it a pleasant surprise when listening to all of the extra material on the soundtrack. The only themes/cues I recall are the ones that involve the main theme with the piano and strings. The quasi-religious stuff made an impression when I watched the film. Don't recall the choral stuff in the movie though. Nice addition on disc!!!

Yep, it's a CD i've been playing 3, 4 times a day. Fine stuff here, shame more of it wasn't used in the film. For me it's JNH's best of the year, and one of my top 5 favorites for the year overall. THANKS to Varese for "rescuing" this nice, rich score.

Indeed. It's a beautiful score and I don't recall half of this stuff being in the movie. The main theme is a bit simplistic but it's amazingly beautiful. "Evacuation" is a true standout, especially towards the end.
