Yeah, I know we've done similar topics before (mostly on how we ARRANGE it), but not really just pictures.

Providing that the board bandwidth can manage and that it doesn't screw up slow connections too much, I suggest that we post one or maximum TWO pictures of our collection in this thread with just a few basic explanatory comments (i.e. not a lot of text).

Would be a useful general overview and give a nice visual "feeling" of our passion.

I'll start with MY two.

Here's my whole collection (the last three and a half shelves are for non-film music):

And here's a close-up of the top three shelves. The first two are only John Williams, the third is only Danny Elfman (not including Boingo CD's):

Call yourself a collector, Thor? Nah, you've got spaces on those shelves. smile

Which shelves are devoted to the suites and/or the unexpanded editions?

This is just the vinyl soundtrack section. Rock and the CD section are elsewhere. If you can't see picture, check later.
Mike.

The bottom two shelves are DVDs. This picture was taken two years ago, so since my collection has expanded since, the furniture is now packed with CDs. Needless to say I moved the DVDs elsewhere.

Amazing pictures, Ray & Recordman!

Spanosdm, you'll need to edit your message and click on the "Special Code Legend" link on the left of the message field to see how to include images-- viz: [ img ] adress_without_the_http_thing [ /img ]

Oh wait, it's working, now, you must have corrected it while I was typing this-- I'll keep it so I won't have typed it for nothing. razz

1500+ soundtracks and counting. Instantly accessible and dust free. Once you dispense with the physical media, you’ll never go back :-)

Woaaaa man,superb design! bravo!

My soundtrack collection is arranged alphabetically by film genre, and then by film title. I recently had to migrate to the walk-through closet since we're preparing the extra bedroom for our new arrival (my wife is 15 weeks pregnant). A small price to pay, I suppose... wink

And yes, every CD is enclosed in a resealable 'CD baggie' which not only protects the cases from dust, scratches, and fingerprints, but also allows me to display the Japanese CDs with the obi on the outside (as intended).

The pic on the bottom features the "non-soundtrack" CDs, also arranged alphabetically by genre, but within each genre the CDs are arranged by artist rather than title.

As I always said, you can identify a true soundtrack collector by the number of purple spines on his shelves.

I always thought it was by the brown color that Varese Sarabande uses.
