so far iTunes only. We will see if there will be a CD release as well with the DVD... Still hoping that there is someone at Lionsgate who actually has a braincell working...

Well, another year has passed and only two of his scores were released. In fact only one, since The Eye is hardly acceptable as proper release of his score.
It seems that within 6 months there is 4 films finally coming with his music.

Max Payne during next few weeks with soundtrack album already being planned

The Hurt Locker - it should be released in November according the latest news, no CD release is planned as far as I know - hope I am wrong frown

In the Electric Mist - the score that took pretty long to finish since the pre-records had to be done before shooting and the score was finally finished in the spring this year. The film should be releases at the end of this year or very early next year - Berlinale possibly?

and finally...
Knowing - Marco is currently working on for Alex Proyas. The film should be released at the end of March - pretty weird date for a film like this one.

There is still Repossession Mambo coming and Amusement (probably direct-to-DVD) Marco co-scored withe three more composers - each of them composed music for a single episode included within the film. No release date mentioned for the score that probably won't happen considering the film is probably very poor "torture porn like Hostel" as it was described by one of the composers working on the project. Debbie Wiseman probably knew very well why she left this project smile

Anyway, Happy birthday, Marco!

Although I would say, that he's 42 today (well, tomorrow for all US folks) and not last year as mentioned in the first post in this topic ;-)

Marco Beltrami recently completed the score to a two-part movie series about french criminal Jacques Mesrine. The first movie, Mesrine: L'instinct de mort is to be released in France at the end of october.
Marcus Trumpp and Dana Niu have provided additionnal music.
A sample of the score is available on the official movie website :

A song album is in the works, but no news about a score release. Maybe it will be released when the second part is out in mid-november?

...Happy Birthday to Mr Beltrami !

Listened to "The Minus Man" this morning, for the first time. Nice score. As I have little Beltrami so far, this will be a keeper, at least for a while.

HAPPY 44th BIRTHDAY MARCO BELTRAMI!!!

Marco Beltrami's latest film score, for My Soul to Take, was released last week in download-only format. I've heard the score and personally I think it's brilliant business as usual! The film itself opens tomorrow, October 8th.

In other recent news, Mr. Beltrami has signed on to score the upcoming Scream 4, which is absolutely essential because it would not be a Scream film without Mr. Beltrami's thunderous and contemporary stylings.

Other projects to which Mr. Beltrami is attached, currently working on, or recently completed include Troy Nixey and Guillermo del Toro's Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, Tommy Lee Jones and Cormac McCarthy's HBO picture The Sunset Limited, John Moore's Northern Lights and Gela Babluani's 13.

Don't be afraid of the Dark and The Sunset Limited were completed a few months ago with former being recorded in Australia.

And congratulations on the nearly twenty years of great, varied film scores. Looking forward to all the new scores to come from Studio Pianella!

Enjoy your final year as a member of the forty-something composers collective!

Many Happy Returns, MB!

All the very best from Bill
