Has anyone heard this score or even seen the film?

Was there a score release?

Opinions/facts/info?

Cheers

The CD runs almost 70 mins. Its performed by the Seattle Symphony Orchestra.
Its nothing like Basil Poledouris' original score.
I guess you can call it a "Fun and always playful" adventure score. Its scored like a cartoon in my opinion, following all the jokes and parodies of the film. However it has one of John Scotts best main themes.

There is a sound clip on The John Scott web page.

Yes, there are times when it gets a bit cartoonish, but there are many moments of true beauty. This one is never out of my rotation for long.

In case you are familiar with other John Scott's scores for family/adventure movies (Greystoke, 20000 leagues under the sea,....), The Second Jungle Book is not especially interesting.... it has some nice moments but unless you are a Scott collector or a really big fan it probably is not especially important to have. Also, in case you are not familiat with John Scott's works, there are much better scores to start with than Second Jungle book.
It's still fine score but just a bit typical for the genre and its composer.

NP: Epic Movie Adventures 2 (Frederic Talgorn)

After 3 listens, I'm afraid this one is near the bottom of the John Scott pile for me.
Apart from tracks 10 (Peaceful Night) and 24 (Harmony Returns..), plus sections of the Train Adventure cue, it's just too quirky, quotey and cartoony for my liking.
Oh well, he can't be perfect all the time, can he? smile

My sentiments exactly. Not his finest by a long shot. Good thing he gave us WALKING THUNDER and 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA the same year!
