SHUCKS, MA'AM, THANKS FOR PUTTING OUT FER ME! Well, putting it up fer me, and the rest of us Cow-Pokes. (doing my best Geraldine Page voice...): You're most welcome young man. Most welcome, indeed. And if you and all your cowboy friends want to get out of those messy clothes and have a bath, why you just say so and I'll be happy to fetch some water and soap. 'Course you'll have to bathe outside here but it looks like such strong young men like you-all got nothin' to be ashamed of and there'll just be me a-watchin'....

Paul Clemens is an actor in his own right, has done several films and has put together a one-man show as Edgar Allan Poe. *** Ray, Jan Sterling may have gone "pasty" betimes -- certasinly no more so than in HIGH AND THE MIGHTY, which I just saw for the first time a few weeks ago on the Academy screen -- but I suspect if was usually in the service of the character and the film. I remember how struck I was by her when I finally saw ACE IN THE HOLE a couple of years ago, thinking, "What other actress of big-studio roles in the 50's would have let herself be so unglamorized as she does here?" What a consumate actress! *** Also to Ray: You certainly make us hungry for a Screen Archives/BYU CD of Steiner's score! How's chances?

What a consumate actress!..... Agree with you, Preston! Sterling was one of those actresses who, when she started, was thought to have a big career ahead of her. She was so impressive. But in the oft-told tales of Hollywood, she somehow never was given the greatest material or opportunities, and though she kept working, eventually in many TV guest star shots, she eventually had to make the best of what she WAS given. A perfect example of the indication that talent doesn't always breed success, sadly.

The music to CAGED just needs to be released. Really, it does. So I'm bumping this thread as a warning to film score labels that if they don't release it soon, I'm going to have to put my foot down.

You've cheered me up this morning. Love the Geraldine Page quotes but I can't place the film despite the familiarity of hearing her deliver those lines.

I won't take credit for being able to remember any Geraldine Page lines, since I've seen so few of her films. I will instead take credit for being able to channel one of her screen personalities so convincingly that I made you think it WAS from one of her films!

I'm giving the film music labels a second warning that I want the music (used and unused) from CAGED to be put on cd. I mean it this time!

There was a fair amount of music recorded for CAGED that was dialed-out in the final mix. Most notably was the Main Title. Probably the only film Max Steiner scored where there was no music playing behind the MUSIC BY MAX STEINER credit. Too awesome, this observation!
