This is a marvellous cd. First, we get the wonderful score by Gabriel Yared, with the highlight "Syncopes". Then we have the great source cues, typical for the era the movie is set in. The only quarrel I have is that they could have seperated the score from the source cues. Otherwise a very, very, VERY fine soundtrack. Don´t know, why I haven´t listened to it more often...
There is actually an album called "The Talented Mr. Ripley, Music From The Recording Sessions" that I've been searching for ages without success. It's some kind of extended version of the score with a lot of variations and even new themes not used in the movie. I downloaded it from a webpage long time ago but have found no trace of any physical format release. I would appreciate if someone could shed some light on this...
